The Renewal Fund continued to grow over the festive season – which is remarkable in these straitened times, and much appreciated. The Christmas Coffee Morning organised by ‘The Geordie Girls’ (Jean Bainbridge and Anthea Aldous) and friends added £187, and boosted the ‘Spot The Shuttlecock’ amount (see P3). The Evening Gazette Wish Campaign added a further £142 when it came to their final shareout. Very many thanks to all those who clipped out and glued in the tokens last year.
